Hi, I’m Nic.

I am a versatile eLearning specialist with more than a decade of experience in freelance learning design. I set up learn.human. in 2022 to offer a fully comprehensive creative service for my clients.

I start with an analysis of learning objectives, audience demographics and course requirements. I source and create graphics and videos that enhance the learning experience. Then I create bespoke learning solutions that meet your specific organisational goals and empower learners to achieve their full potential.

FINDING THE TRUTH
OPEN UNIVERSITY & ELUCIDAT

This thought-provoking interactive course for the Open University uses social polls and expert feedback in order to provide observations on the ambiguous decision points faced by the learner in the content. I built the course, applied graphics and video content, and QAed the final content to check linking and useability on mobile devices.

Part of a team that produced this immersive video-based course using branching narratives to showcase the effect of user decisions in a given scenario. I built out the complicated branching paths for each scenario, applied graphics and video content, and QAed the final content to check linking and useability on mobile devices.

CARING FOR PEOPLE WITH PSYCHOSIS
KING’S COLLEGE LONDON & MAKE SENSE DESIGN

This fascinating course highlights many of the most common issues experienced by people caring for someone with psychosis. Built within the FutureLearn authoring platform, with additional social polling elements in Elucidat, this 4-week course utilises video, peer polling and innovative design to bring a new perspective to this topic.

what I do

  • I currently use Elucidat, Articulate (Storyline and Rise) and Evolve to build elearning courses. I have previously also used FutureLearn and wordpress.

    If your company needs to choose an authoring platform, I can help offer impartial advice based on your use and budget.

  • With a background in editorial and copywriting for magazines I am able to create content that reflects your company’s brand messaging throughout the elearning content.

  • Storyboarding – either traditional documentation or agile in the authoring tool – is a key stage in refining elearning content to make sure a course is meeting specific learning objectives in an engaging and informative way.

  • If you already have learning content, either in pdf or existing learning courses, I can edit and refine this to reflect your updated elearning objectives.

  • Images are key to bringing learning content to life. I am able to source, edit and create images to fit with your brand and enhance learning points.

  • Videos are a great way to illustrate ideas and processes in an engaging, immersive way. I use AfterEffects and Premiere Pro to create videos for clients.

  • Testing and QAing your content is a vital and often overlooked stage in content production. I can test your courses and provide feedback or make the changes needed for your course to succeed.

  • Accessibility is an important element in all digital learning. I make sure all course colours are accessible and that courses are as compliant as possible to current guidelines.
